Call for Speakers now open and new Community pages

Hello folks!

We are happy to announce that Global Azure is ready for another round! What? You haven’t heard about the biggest and most famous event about Azure created by the community for the community? We can’t believe it :)

Global Azure is all about community, all about FUN, and all about instigating active learning and encouraging learners to stay up to date with Azure technology. After starting in 2013 this will be the 9th edition, and we love to see how it grows year after year. Just to share some numbers from last year:

  • In 2021, our virtual event activated 564 speakers who delivered 538 sessions over three days with an estimated reach of 21k attendees
  • Speakers participated over 3 days from 38 countries and in 13 different languages
  • 21 Azure communities around the world federated their events with the Global website through Sessionize

Call for Speakers now open!

And we want this year to be even bigger! We have heard that the communities, as health restrictions in each country allow, are thinking of holding hybrid events where we can once again return to our favorite event format without losing sight of those who cannot attend. We encourage you all to participate in one way or another, either by creating a local event, giving a session, or sharing your experience with others.

Starting today, the Global Azure Call for Speakers is open so if you want to send your proposal, don’t let it go! Remember that the global Call for Speakers is to support people in the community who are unable to participate in a local event near them. If you are going to participate in a local event, then keep an eye out for your community's call for speakers, as their sessions will be integrated into the global agenda.

And if in last year we announced how to integrate your local event through Sessionize event federation (check this post if you are planning a local event and want to federate it), this year we are happy to give more visibility to each community on the global website.

Global Azure wouldn't be global without the communities around the world! Every community involved in the Global Azure event can be found at https://globalazure.net/communities In case your community is missing, we invite you over to the communities GitHub repository to create a pull request and add your community to the website.

More updates will come with the community map and sessions per community, stay tuned!

Cheers,
